On arrival into Kota Kinabalu, you will be met by your English-Speaking guide and transferred to your hotel for check in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to begin soaking up the local culture, excellent infrastructure and amenities
At 07:00am you will be picked up from your hotel and will be embark on a 3-hour drive, via private transport, to the Poring Hot Spring. A stop off at Nabalu village will allow you to immerse yourself in local culture where you can savour fruits and sop for local handicrafts. At the Poring Hot Spring, join a jungle trail that ventures into the canopy walkway, where you will be able to have a bird eyes view of the beautiful rainforest canopy. Afterwards, take a short walk to explore the picturesque gardens at the World Heritage site of Kinabalu Park, home to many species of orchids, pitcher plants, birds, insects and butterflies. You will then return to Kota Kinabalu in the late afternoon accompanied by your guide. The rest of the evening can be spent at your own leisure. Breakfast and Lunch included
You will be picked up from your hotel via shared transport and transferred to the airport for your flight to Sandakan. Upon arriving in Sandakan, you will proceed on to visit the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary where captive Orangutans are reintroduced into the wild. At 10:00am you will have the chance to observe their feeding stations in the rainforest. If permitting, you will also have a chance to see the Orangutans at the nursery. Then proceed to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC). From 11:00-11:15am you will depart from Sepilok and proceed to a boat jetty in Sandakan. From there, at 11:45-12:00pm you will depart for a 1-hour boat cruise along the Lower Kinabatangan River, passing pristine mangrove forests, searching for wildlife, with a chance to enjoy lunch at the Abai Jungle Restaurant. Continuing by boat to Sukau for check-in, you will then continue your river cruise along the river to the Menanggul River. Here you will have another chance at capturing the sights of monkeys, birds, reptiles and other wildlife. Returning for dinner and an overnight stay at the Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. Please Note: The nursery at Sepilok is sometimes closed to visitors. This occurs if any of the young orangutan are sick. As such there is no guarantee that the nursery will be open. At 06:30am, you will experience a river cruise on the longest river of Sabah, Ox Bow Lake to partake in bird watching and wildlife viewing. After breakfast, you will then take a 15-minute stroll to the home of bats, swiftlets and largest birds nest cave in Sabah at Gomantong Caves. The nests are regularly collected at great personal risk for the famed Birdnest soup, a valued Chinese specialty. You will then return to your lodge. At 16:30pm you will venture on to another river cruise down the Menanggul River in search of more wildlife. Returning at dusk, you will have your evening to enjoy dinner and another overnight stay at Overnight at the Kinabatangan Riverside lodge. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included
After enjoying some breakfast, you will depart from your lodge at 07:00am and return to Sandakan by boat. At 08:30am stop at Abai Jungle Lodge for a short break before continuing your journey downriver. After arriving at Sandakan jetty, you will transfer to the airport for your flight back to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arriving in Kota Kinabalu, you will be met by your English-speaking guide and transferred back to your hotel. Your evening is free for your own leisure. Breakfast and Lunch included
After breakfast, you will begin your journey on a 15-minute boat ride from Kota Kinabalu, to the beautiful coral islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. The island offers pristine white beaches, clear water, coral reefs and is the perfect getaway, allowing for a day of relaxation. If you wish to swim masks and snorkel are provided and basic washroom facilities are available. After enjoying a spot of lunch, you will return to Kota Kinabalu in the mid-afternoon.
