Cruise Overview

The highlight is a visit to the ‘Golden Triangle’ where the borders Thailand, Myanmar & Laos meet.  Fly south to the paradise island of Koh Samui and embark on an iconic tall ship sailing aboard the Star Clipper.

1 London Heathrow Airport / London

Fly overnight from London to Bangkok

2 Bangkok

Arrive in Bangkok and meet your driver and guide at the airport (an early check in is on request and subject to availability). The rest of the day is at your leisure to start soaking up the local culture. No meals included

3 Bangkok

After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you for the city tour. Visit one of Bangkok’s most magnificent landmarks “The Grand Palace” and see the Temple of the Emerald Buddha: Wat Phra Kaew, before visiting Wat Pho. Have lunch at a local restaurant before taking a water taxi to visit Wat Arun, The Temple of Dawn, and afterwards navigate Asia’s “Venice of the East” by a long tail boat. Breakfast and Lunch included

4 Chiang Mai

After breakfast, travel to the airport to catch the flight to Chiang Mai,where upon arrival you will be taken for your Samlor tour. During the tour, visit some of the most famous markets of Chiang Mai, as well as Wat Loi Kroh temple, the Iron Bridge of the Ping River, the Ancient Lanna House, and the first Christian Church. Afterwards, continue to San Pakoy market, the Bain compound, and on to the Wat Ket temple. Continue over the Chansom Memorial Bridge crossing the Ping River to arrive at the Tonlamyai Market, and wander through the fresh food markets at Kad Luang. Get back on the Samlors for the last stretch back to Thapae Gate. Breakfast included

5 Chiang Mai

Meet the guide and driver a 45-minute drive through the beautiful scenic countryside of Lanna, stopping at Maewang local market to pick up food for the elephants and collect your picnic lunch box. Continue to the camp on the Maewang mountain and visit the beautiful waterfall before a short walk into the forest nearby the Karen village, before continuing the drive to the Elephant camp. Upon arrival at Maewang Elephant Conservation Camp, the program begins and staff teach you about the elephants, their background, and how to take care of them and feed them. A 40-minute soft trek through the forest trail will bring you to the elephants, where you can hunt for sugarcanes with them. Breakfast and Lunch included

6 Chiang Rai

After breakfast, drive to Chiang Rai, visiting the famous and unique White and Blue temples on the way. Upon arrival at the hotel, the rest of the day is free for your leisure. Breakfast included

7 Chiang Rai

Your guide and driver will meet you to begin the journey to the Doi Tung Mountain, visiting the Mae Fah Luang botanic gardens. Continue to Mae Sai, and you can cross into Myanmar on a day pass and explore the Tachilek town. Afterwards continue to the Golden Triangle where the borders for Laos, Thailand and Myanmar meet, and after a delicious Thai meal there is a relaxing boat trip to Don Sao. Later visit the Hall of Opium and return to your hotel in the afternoon. Breakfast and Lunch included

8 Samui Airport / Ko Samui

After breakfast we will drive to the airport to catch the flight to Koh Samui. Private transfer to your hotel
