Casablanca

Casablanca, located in Western Morocco, is the largest city in Morocco with a population of 3.1 million. Casablanca is the primary city in Morocco for the industrial sector and is the headquarters for many Moroccan companies and international companies.

Morocco generally offers good weather, though Casablanca can be quite cool on summer evenings and in the winter. The city’s rainy months are from November until April, but tourists should not worry about the rain too much, as even during these months the rainfall is not heavy. Casablanca’s weather is at its best from October until April. The city is usually packed with tourists during this time, as the temperature is around 30°C during the day and 15°C during the night. Spring, which usually comes late in Casablanca, is also a good time to visit due to the weather being pleasant.

Whilst visiting Casablanca, you may wish to visit the beach suburb of Ain Diab and take a stroll along the corniche. The corniche is particularly good for a visit at night and offers a variety of nightclubs and restaurants. If you’re looking for relaxing activities such as golf, there is the nearby beach resort Mohammédia, which is located just 15 miles northeast of the city and offers a golf club, tennis courts, and a variety of other activities.

Why visit Casablanca ?

The largest city in Morocco

Casablanca is the perfect resort for those who are looking for plenty of things to see and do

Casablanca is the perfect resort for those who are looking for plenty of things to see and do. There is Old Medina, a small traditional town that is well worth visiting, and the King Hassan II Mosque, which is one of the largest mosques in the world. This mosque is decorated with beautiful marble walls, mosaic tiles, and Venetian glass chandeliers, so make sure you make this a stop on your visit. The majority of mosques in Morocco are not open to non-Muslims, but luckily the King Hassan II Mosque is open to all visitors.

Another tourist attraction is the Musee du Judaisme Marocain, which is an ideal museum for those who wish to explore the history of Jews in Morocco. Casablanca is also the perfect resort for tourists who enjoy art-deco and art- nouveau buildings, so be sure to take your camera if this applies to you!

You will not be short of places to eat within the city. Along the corniche are a selection of seafood restaurants, as well as a variety of popular fast food restaurants such as KFC and Pizza Hut. Those looking for some traditional Moroccan food may wish to stop by Al Mounia, which also offers a large selection of wines. For a different type of cuisine, you might wish to pay a visit to Thai Gardens, which offers good quality spring rolls, or YoSushi, where there is a selection of good quality sushi dishes.

For those who love shopping, Old Medina has a selection of shops that sell products such as pottery and other traditional Moroccan goods, but other than that, Casablanca does not have much to offer in terms of shops. There are a few good hotels in the city, such as the Hyatt Regency Casablanca, which offers guests a view of the King Hassan II Mosque. This hotel is more suited to those who are wishing to spend a little more for luxury, but there are more affordable hotels, such as the Hotel Terminus.

Casablanca may be lacking in areas such as shops and beaches, but it does provide its tourists with some top attractions that make the city worth a visit.
