Barcelona pays tribute to sports and is known for hosting the 1992 Summer Olympic Games. Barcelona, located on the northeast coast of the Iberian Peninsula, enjoys favourable weather conditions due to the Mediterranean. This recreational city experiences cold in January and February with an average temperature of 10 °C (50 °F), and heat in July & August with average temperatures of 30 °C (86 °F); snowfalls are very rare. Generally the city of Barcelona experiences mild, humid winters and warm, dry summers, which is moderate for vacation seekers.

There is never a dull moment during a visit to this fun spot as there are many places to visit, including parks; beaches, museums and shopping centres, etc. The city takes pride in accommodating 68 municipal parks that include 45 urban parks, 12 historic parks, 6 forest parks and 5 theme parks. These parks provide large recreational areas for unwinding. Barcelona’s largest park is Montjuïc, situated at Mount Montjuïc. Some other parks are Oreneta Castle Park, Poblenou Park and Guinardó Park. Those holiday- makers looking for sightseeing in Barcelona could stroll around the Plaça Catalunya, the city’s historical centre.

Further up is Barcelona’s major commercial centre, housing several shopping complexes such as La Maquinista, L’Illa and Glòries etc. Among all of the things to do in Barcelona, you must visit the beach; the city is a proud owner of seven superb beaches. The oldest and most visited of all are the Sant Sebastià and Barceloneta beaches. Experience the city’s Nova Icària, Bogatell, Mar Bella, Nova Mar Bella and Llevant beaches that were built as part of the plans to host the 1992 Summer Olympic Games. These beaches are capable of providing you with lifelong experiences throughout the whole of your stay in Barcelona.
