Auckland

Auckland is located on the North Island of New Zealand and has a population of over 1.4 million, making it one of the largest urban areas in New Zealand.

The city enjoys a temperate climate all year round and the highest temperature recorded was 30.5°C. Auckland tends to have lots of rain throughout the year, but mostly in winter and there have been violent hailstorms on occasion and even tropical cyclones.

There are some beaches that are especially suited to children, such as those at Judge’s Bay and Mission Bay, not far from central Auckland.

If you are looking for a holiday where there are plenty of water activities on offer then Auckland is the perfect destination. There is Goat Island Dive, where you can hire diving gear and explore a variety of locations or you can visit Kiwi Sail, where you can choose to sail in the morning, afternoon, evening or even all day if you wish. If you enjoy fishing, then you may want to take a trip to Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf, where you will find snappers, sharks and much more. You can also swim, surf, snorkel and go scuba diving on one of the many beaches.

Auckland has many beaches to explore

You may wish to try the beaches along Tamaki Drive on the east coast

If you are looking for culture, visit the Auckland Museum, where you can see many Maori artefacts and learn a bout the fascinating natural history of the area. The museum also offers lectures, special events, exhibitions and much more. It is open Monday to Friday 10:00am until 5:00pm, so be sure to stop by during your stay in Auckland.

For some relaxation, take some time out to visit Ayrlies in Whitford. Ayrlies is a country garden, which is perfect for a quiet walk. For a small fee, you can explore the garden’s selection of trees, sub tropical plants and waterfalls and also take a picnic if you wish.

Auckland has many famous sites that are worth visiting during your stay. There is the popular Auckland Civic Theatre, which is located in downtown Auckland and has appeared in films. You may also wish to visit Aotea Square, which is also located in the city. The square has many interesting statues and art around it and many open-air concerts and markets take place there.

For a mixture of art, culture and nightlife, you should visit the Ponsonby area of the city. Here you will find a selection of shops, cafés, and nightclubs to keep you busy.

Auckland is known for a number of landmarks, including Mount Victoria, Mount Eden and Rangitoto Island. These all offer spectacular views of the city and are certainly worth a visit. If you still looking for more, then stop by Auckland Zoo, where you can take a look at many exotic animals. The zoo offers many different ways in which to get close to the animals, so your visit is sure to be an enjoyable and interesting experience.

There are many places to eat in Auckland, including the Deve Bar and Brassiere, where the menu includes beef and lamb dishes; a selection of Japanese restaurants, including take aways and Valentine’s Restaurant, where you can pick food from a buffet. The restaurants can be a little pricey, so if you are looking for a cheaper option, try the food courts in Ponsonby.

For those who love shopping, there are plenty of markets, shops and cafés throughout the city. In Ponsonby there are fashion stores, cultural stores and other designer stores and there are the markets on Aotea Square.

Auckland is definitely the perfect holiday destination for those who are looking for a mixture of culture, history and plenty of activities.
