Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has defined and refined the cruise experience, and judging by the number of passengers that come back time and again, we seem to have styled it to perfection.
The company originated in Hvitsten, a small town on Oslofjord in Norway, in 1848 when three Olsen brothers – Fredrik Christian, Petter and Andreas – bought their first ships and began an international shipping company.
Why choose Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines?
INCREDIBLE VALUE CRUISE HOLIDAYS
Enjoy a taste of award-winning food, made the way you like it
Cruising with Fred. Olsen is about making the most of some well-earned time away from it all, and on-board your smaller, friendlier cruise ship you can do as much or as little as you like to ensure your experience is as relaxing and rewarding as you want it to be.
With a variety of experiences, events, classes and much more to enjoy, each day on board can be as varied as you wish. On all four Fred. Olsen ships you could start your day with a delicious breakfast, followed by an energising early morning workout in the fully equipped fitness centre or refreshing walk on the open decks; try your hand at bridge, shuffle board and deck quoits after lunch, or perhaps indulge with a traditional afternoon tea; then in the evenings, enjoy sumptuous, five-course á la carte dining or a tasty buffet before catching a show and dancing long into the night – the choice is always yours.
One of the highlights of a Fred. Olsen cruise is the food. Expert chefs produce great dishes night after night. Every day menus are something special, with appetisers like herb-marinated salmon or crab cocktail and indulgent main courses like sirloin steak with a choice of sauces, pan seared red snapper with scallops, slow roast duckling confit or balsamic braised lamb shank.
Of course there are vegetarian dishes and healthy choices too, with an emphasis on fish dishes inspired by our Norwegian heritage; so even if you’re watching your diet, you’re in for a treat!
The desserts are every bit as tasty (think white chocolate parfait or mango apple tart) and the sugar free option means no-one has to miss out.
