Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the mountain town of Banff to Kamloops, in the heart of the BC Interior. Enjoy the spectacular array of scenery as you travel between the glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies, over mountain passes and through remarkable tunnels, along rocky lakeshores and across the ranchlands of the Interior. Today’s highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass, and Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. Overnight in Kamloops. Please note that all accommodation in Kamloops is of moderate standard. Breakfast and lunch will be served onboard.
Your journey continues west towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. On today’s journey you will again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the Interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Your rail journey ends on arrival in Vancouver this evening. Breakfast and lunch will be served onboard.
Take full advantage of a free day at leisure in Vancouver, and check out Vancouver’s must-see attractions like the Vancouver Aquarium (admission not included), Stanley Park, or Granville Island, explore the city’s museums, art galleries, gardens, and varied neighbourhoods, or take a day trip to discover the nearby resort town of Whistler or British Columbia’s charming capital on Vancouver Island, Victoria. Overnight in Vancouver.
Travel onboard Rocky Mountaineer’s Coastal Passage route from Vancouver to the gateway to the Pacific Northwest, the “Emerald City” of Seattle. A motorcoach will transfer you from your hotel to the Rocky Mountaineer station this morning, where you will board your dome coach for the southbound rail journey to Seattle. After boarding, toast the voyage ahead and indulge in a delectable hot breakfast as you cross the mighty Fraser River and depart Vancouver. Highlights include the community of White Rock as the train hugs the Pacific Coast, views of Bellingham Bay and the San Juan Islands beyond, the fields at the foot of the Cascade Mountains near Mount Vernon, the fishing fleet (and Boeing jets) of Everett, and a unique view of the Chittenden Locks linking Puget Sound to Lakes Union and Washington as the train nears Seattle. Upon arrival in Seattle at King Street Station, you will clear US customs and immigration, disembark, and transfer to a motorcoach which will take you (and your luggage) to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours at leisure. Overnight in Seattle. Breakfast will be served onboard.
Private transfer to the port. Embark Norwegian Bliss, depart Seattle
Juneau has been called Alaska's peak experience, certainly due in part to its unparalleled glacier viewing from such places as Tracy Arm Fjord, the Juneau Icefields and Glacier Bay National Park. Kayak up one of the area's many protected waterways, go flightseeing, tour historic downtown or try your hand at panning for gold. The majestic Mendenhall Glacier lies nearly 12 miles outside Juneau, a treck worthwhile
In a single year from 1896 to 1897, this remote town along the Inside Passage grew from a few tents to a city of 20,000 gold seekers. Today, travellers come in search of other riches - to experience yesteryear along Skagway's charming boardwalk lined with buildings that replicate those Gold Rush days.
Sail to Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, a United Nations World Heritage Site. Comprised of 3.3 million acres of natural wonders, it is home to magnificent glaciers, snow-capped mountains and abundant birds and wildlife.
Its Tlingit Indian name, Kach Khanna, means 'spread wings of the eagle.' Chances are you'll see one of these magnificent birds perched atop a Sitka tree. Thanks to its abundant rainfall, Ketchikan is surrounded by some of the world's most lush wilderness.
Roam the spacious lawns of stunning Butchart Gardens with its exotic flora, unusual topiary and exquisite fountains. Explore historic Bastion Square, the treasures of Chinatown and the many sights and sounds to be found along the boardwalk of the Inner Harbour.
